Reading

88% of students in 1st-5th grade passed the CRCT reading test.

Reading achievement among all subgroups of students has increased an average of 13% over the last three years.

1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade scores improved over last year.

2nd grade maintained scores of over 90% passing.

English/Language Arts

1st and 3rd grade scored higher than Troup County School System and/or the state of Georgia on the ELA CRCT test.

Science

3rd and 4th grade scored higher than Troup County School System and/or the state of Georgia on the science CRCT test.

Writing

5th grade writing scores improved 22% over last year!

Additional

Melinda Dukes was named the 2008-2009 Hogansville Elementary Teacher of the Year.

Savanna Galloway was named the 2007-2008 Greenwave Student of the Year for displaying the Greenwave character traits of honesty, loyalty and truth.

Attendance remains strong with only 2.8% of students in grades 3-5 missing more than 15 days of school compared to 6.5% missing school last year.

Hogansville Elementary has made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for six straight years and will again be recognized as a Title I Distinguished School for the 2008-2009 school year.

Hogansville Elementary won the following Keep Troup Beautiful Awards for 2006-2007: James R. Lewis School Pride Award and Youth Group/School Award of Excellence.
